Having taught American History and Government for thirty-one (31) years in a life that has spanned from WW II to this current moment, and the most serious threat to our Democracy, of my life time; I can only say, that there is no way I could in good conscience stand before a class of students and not advocate and explain that President George W. Bush must be tried for War Crimes as a matter of International Law and morality, and that he must be Impeached and removed from office in the name of the restoration of Constitutional Government in These United States, and the removal of common criminals from The White House.

Any competent student of History, any true Historian dedicated to the pursuit of historical truth will tell you that in that search one must examine the broad pallet of the era one is examining in terms of the impact and interrelationships of the: social, political, economic, philosophical, moral and artistic out put of any given society at any juncture in time under research investigation.

While I acknowledge that the technologies of our present cultural enables vast amounts of information and artistic self-expression to published; the amount of negative expression directed against this President and current world conditions is so immense that one cannot deny the collective venomous malaise literally pouring, coursing through the veins of our society. Expressions of protest, though not as violent yet, far exceed those of the Vietnam era. In song alone we can identify nearly 2,000 pieces of such material. None yet embodies the hatred of expression of that era’s “Masters of War” though is becoming a frequent reference.

The campuses of America are not riotous and the streets have given us peaceful assemblies thus far, assemblies growing in numbers and frequency. We are, however, not far from a tectonic-like event that will mark the “turning point” in an America that has lost all faith and trust in its President after his most recent shabby attempt to frame yet another, more of the same, escalation in Iraq.

Though the America people do like relish the taste of defeat; they know the reality of this moment in history, and they know that as it will always be, that when their nation is imperiled within, it the people who must and will rise up to preserve the foundation of this nation. That moment is at hand.

I include in this post as my consistent reminder the “minimalist” “Articles of Impeachment” as a constant reminder of what is required of us. That will be followed by a sizable presentation of “Social Ferment” artistic free speech and two relevant reposts from this blog site.

I have permission to post this disturbing piece of personal correspondence, and I do so as an act of sharing the feelings one tortured soul that I am very much afraid reflects the ferment of many American minds.

We are not a happy people and too much of the dark side of our humanity is currently welled up just beneath the surface of our collective emotional controls.

This I fear!

-THE VERY DARK SIDE –ANONYMITY PROTECTED AS PROMISED-

"Friends, neighbors, and countrymen of the Right: I hate your lying despicable guts." I detest your very being; I resent your existence. And while I remain committed to your right to say anything you wish, and to believe anything you will; it ends there as of this day.

You no longer have my respect; that has turned to contempt. You no longer have my toleration; I will grind you under my heel every chance I get and I will scrape you off my shoe like the mashed pile of excrement that you are.

I will no longer tolerate your cowardice, stupidity and meaningless shallow drivel. I will confront you, demean you, belittle, debase demonize and disgrace your name and every utterance at every turn, every mention with every tool of destructive venom that I can summon.

You are vile, evil and your life is pure vexation. You have the right to that life; may it be short, end in debilitating anguish and suffering, and when you are buried I will walk on the still soft earth covering your worthless rotting carcass with joy and in victory.

If a tear should well up it will be a tear of joy, for I will not mourn your passing as your very existence has been a cancer on my life, my time.

I will: delight in your failures, take amusement from your troubles, find pleasure in your miseries, enjoy inflicting injury upon you, contribute to your undoing, rejoice at your disgrace and celebrate your demise, the end of your meaningless worthless lives.

I will mock and soil your memory as long as I draw breath.

I used to try to laugh you people off. Now, I detest you as among the most loathsome people America has ever vomited up.

You are not only dangerous to our way of life; you are a danger to the entire world and Bush has molded you into a mindless flock of sheep.

There are some of you, otherwise intelligent people, who just cannot believe that anything disastrous will happen that the President cannot be impeached while the farce of Iraq is in “progress” that he cannot be brought to trial before the world on War Crimes.

With childish immaturity and a profound snobbery of exclusive denial that surpasses that of the deepest alcoholic and most wasted addict, you walk your sons and daughters forward into a new day where they will be offered up on the altar of World War III as the price to be paid for your lives of mindless, moronic mediocre idiotic comfort.

He has violated The Constitution of The United States willingly and repeatedly; he must be removed from office.

He has ordered and sanctioned the violation of the Geneva Conventions willfully and repeatedly; that constitutes War Crimes of the magnitude punishable by death.

He must be brought to justice.Americans, who simply dismiss those facts, are so uninformed, so unconcerned, so detached, so ignorant, insensitive and driven by the stupidity of mindless arrogance that they just don’t believe an American President can be brought to justice, are fools, mental midgets, ignorant by choice to the degree that I can no longer politely ignore you in common social conversation.

You are an elitist, your every word, “verbal lint” that makes me want to wretch and scream in your faces to wake up your dormant worthless brains.

You are not in touch with reality.

You sicken me as you are the very manure core of the growing Bush Dictatorship.

You are the essence of every ill in this world and you just don’t give a damn because you are so shallow outside of your little “important” everyday world that you think you can get away with simply ignoring anything anyone says and that it all will be well for you and yours.

You don’t want to hear a word anyone else has to say as you live as though all ill will somehow go away and your knee jerk cynicism permits you to scrape aside like dog shit on a sidewalk, anything you do not want to hear.

Your ears have gone deaf; your mind has closed; your eyes are clouded the cataracts of the cynical and your words, instinctual, are those of a practiced hypocrite, all fitting as you have stopped carrying about anyone but yourself. You might as well be truly deaf as your mind absorbs nothing except yourself.

Firmly believing none of the problems of the world will be visited upon you, for you are among “the righteous self anointed chosen ones” entitled to dictate the lives, morals, conduct and human condition of others, like the fool who watches a mole change, convinced it could never kill them so you self centered, self-ordained “intelligent ignorant bastards walk through life with distain for everyone but yourself.

No one else really matters, and thought you may profess love, express grief at the loss of a “loved one”, you will for a few days mouth the ritual cliché collection of funeral home sound bites and content yourself with devouring the estate “droppings” of your dead moments after the repetitious recitations of graveside you have authored, and life will return to your self-absorbed normal tomorrow.

Your lover is a convenience that can be replaced; your “friends” are to be used; your offspring is for show and validation that you are complete.

Your life is a sham, a poorly written play, a well enacted daily hypocrisy.

You owe no one anything and publicly do all those things deemed “correct”. You are so devoid of any real humanity that my bloodlust hatred of you causes me no concern.

Many of you sanctimoniously wrap yourselves in the cloak of their naive foolish belief in a God; it is a funeral shroud.

Everything is in the hands of God, and the hands and mouths of those who plunder this Earth and manipulate the mindless pathetic flock they pretend to serve. Your Christianity is but a title you need for self-defined respectability.

You are the people I now hate, hate with a passion that no words in our language can express, (only acts of violence would suffice)--these people who seek to control our national security.

The best of you are misinformed; the worst are knowingly evil. The rest of you are vicious liars.

So I intend to vote on November 7 as I always do, but this time it will not be a felling of hope; my vote will be cast with the vile tastes of hatred and revenge on my tongue. If I have to, I'll crawl over broken glass to do it. And this year I'm voting a straight Democratic ticket right down to dog catcher, because I've had it.

I'm fed up with the deranged, lying Right.

You have attacked me so many times in my life, and I have accepted and dealt with those attacks; no more; if you want destruction, I will provide every measure of it I can muster for the rest of my life.

You have infected me.

I will see to it everyday in every act and word that your lives will be under attack and your every value undermined and labeled as hateful worthless trash and that you values are as worthless as your existence.

I'm now a hater, too." I have loved with a passion; I will now hate with a constant consistent vengeance. I have eradicated the words forgiveness, understanding, compassion and toleration from my vocabulary and being where you are concerned.

Should those I hate never have been born; this world would be a better place.

May you live in agony, fail in disgrace and die with long lingering suffering that consumes all you have accumulated leaving your off spring nothing.

You have driven me to the point where song lyrics to THE MASTERS OF WAR just won’t fade from my mind; you have authored despair, the sickness unto death; this I cannot forgive!

MASTERS OF WAR

Come you masters of war, you that build all the guns.
You that build the death place, you that build all the guns.
You that hide behind walls, you that hide behind desks.
I just want you to know, I can see through your masks.

You that never done nothing, but to build and destroy.
You play with my world, like its your little toy.
You put a drug in my head, then you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run following the fast foolish lie.

Like Judas of old, you lie and deceive
A world war can be won, you won't need to believe
But I see through your eyes, and I see through your brain
like I see through the water that runs down my drain.

You that fasten all the triggers, for the others to fire
Then you sit back and watch, while the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion, while young people's blood
Flows out their bodies and is buried in the mud.

You've thrown the worst fear, that could ever be hurled
The fear to bring children, into this world
For threatenin' my baby, unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood that runs in your veins

How much do I know, to talk out of turn?
You might say that I'm young, you might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know, though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never forgive what you do.

Let me ask you one question, is your money that good?
Will it buy you forgiveness?
Do you think that it could?

Oh, I think you will find, when your death takes its toll
All the money you made will never buy back your soul.

And I hope that you die, and your death will come soon.

I'll follow your casket, in the pale afternoon, and I'll watch as your lowered,

into your death bed and I'll stand on your grave till I'm sure that your dead.

ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. - - ARTICLE II, SECTION 4 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

President George W. Bush, Vice President Richard B. Cheney, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld, and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales have committed violations and subversions of the Constitution of the United States of America in an attempt to carry out with impunity crimes against peace and humanity and war crimes and deprivations of the civil rights of the people of the United States and other nations, by assuming powers of an imperial executive unaccountable to law and usurping powers of the Congress, the Judiciary and those reserved to the people of the United States, by the following acts:

1) Seizing power to wage wars of aggression in defiance of the U.S. Constitution, the U.N. Charter and the rule of law; carrying out a massive assault on and occupation of Iraq, a country that was not threatening the United States, resulting in the death and maiming of over one hundred thousand Iraqis, and thousands of U.S. G.I.s.

2) Lying to the people of the U.S., to Congress, and to the U.N., providing false and deceptive rationales for war.

3) Authorizing, ordering and condoning direct attacks on civilians, civilian facilities and locations where civilian casualties were unavoidable.

4) Instituting a secret and illegal wiretapping and spying operation against the people of the United States through the National Security Agency.

5) Threatening the independence and sovereignty of Iraq by belligerently changing its government by force and assaulting Iraq in a war of aggression.

6) Authorizing, ordering and condoning assassinations, summary executions, kidnappings, secret and other illegal detentions of individuals, torture and physical and psychological coercion of prisoners to obtain false statements concerning acts and intentions of governments and individuals and violating within the United States, and by authorizing U.S. forces and agents elsewhere, the rights of individuals under the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Eighth Amendments to the Constitution of the United States, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

7) Making, ordering and condoning false statements and propaganda about the conduct of foreign governments and individuals and acts by U.S. government personnel; manipulating the media and foreign governments with false information; concealing information vital to public discussion and informed judgment concerning acts, intentions and possession, or efforts to obtain weapons of mass destruction in order to falsely create a climate of fear and destroy opposition to U.S. wars of aggression and first strike attacks.

8) Violations and subversions of the Charter of the United Nations and international law, both a part of the "Supreme Law of the land" under Article VI, paragraph 2, of the Constitution, in an attempt to commit with impunity crimes against peace and humanity and war crimes in wars and threats of aggression against Afghanistan, Iraq and others and usurping powers of the United Nations and the peoples of its nations by bribery, coercion and other corrupt acts and by rejecting treaties, committing treaty violations, and frustrating compliance with treaties in order to destroy any means by which international law and institutions can prevent, affect, or adjudicate the exercise of U.S. military and economic power against the international community.

9) Acting to strip United States citizens of their constitutional and human rights, ordering indefinite detention of citizens, without access to counsel, without charge, and without opportunity to appear before a civil judicial officer to challenge the detention, based solely on the discretionary designation by the Executive of a citizen as an "enemy combatant."

10) Ordering indefinite detention of non-citizens in the United States and elsewhere, and without charge, at the discretionary designation of the Attorney General or the Secretary of Defense.

11) Ordering and authorizing the Attorney General to override judicial orders of release of detainees under INS jurisdiction, even where the judicial officer after full hearing determines a detainee is wrongfully held by the government.

12) Authorizing secret military tribunals and summary execution of persons who are not citizens who are designated solely at the discretion of the Executive who acts as indicting official, prosecutor and as the only avenue of appellate relief.

13) Refusing to provide public disclosure of the identities and locations of persons who have been arrested, detained and imprisoned by the U.S. government in the United States, including in response to Congressional inquiry.

14) Use of secret arrests of persons within the United States and elsewhere and denial of the right to public trials.

15) Authorizing the monitoring of confidential attorney-client privileged communications by the government, even in the absence of a court order and even where an incarcerated person has not been charged with a crime.

16) Ordering and authorizing the seizure of assets of persons in the United States, prior to hearing or trial, for lawful or innocent association with any entity that at the discretionary designation of the Executive has been deemed "terrorist."

17) Engaging in criminal neglect in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, depriving thousands of people in Louisiana, Mississippi and other Gulf States of urgently needed support, causing mass suffering and unnecessary loss of life.

18) Institutionalization of racial and religious profiling and authorization of domestic spying by federal law enforcement on persons based on their engagement in noncriminal religious and political activity.

19) Refusal to provide information and records necessary and appropriate for the constitutional right of legislative oversight of executive functions.

20) Rejecting treaties protective of peace and human rights and abrogation of the obligations of the United States under, and withdrawal from, international treaties and obligations without consent of the legislative branch, and including termination of the ABM treaty between the United States and Russia, and rescission of the authorizing signature from the Treaty of Rome which served as the basis for the International Criminal Court.

The Angry American

This one of those mornings where the coffee is good and I really don’t feel like being politically correct or polite about some things that have nagging at me. In fact I’m not going to have any trouble at writing this because I did it my dreams last night…now that’s not the best of signs. So excuse me if I slip now again and use angry words that they used to blip on TV.

I still have my copy of the book “The Ugly American” from my college days, and these days I have had moments when I have revisited it, every time I see a new list of who in the world “hates our guts” and the reasons why. But, I am convinced that someone ought to be writing a new book entitled: “The Angry American”, because we are damn seething angry!

You hear pundits and droning “talking heads” using a lot of words, and filling up hot air time describing the mood of America today: Wary, apprehensive, nervous, pessimistic, cautious, depressed, despaired, impotent, cynical, hopeless, helpless, etc. But when you get right down to it, you can throw all of them away and call it what it is, ANGER; we are damned angry, dangerously so at some turns.

Some of these flap jaws go as far as suggesting that most of America is suffering from depression and we all ought to go on Prozac and a tranquilizer for at least a couple of years. See, now that’s what I mean. They can’t even get this one right, but they like to hear themselves talk, get paid well enough for doing so that they don’t have the same problems as you and me, so they feel good; they get their ego booster shot every time someone sticks a microphone in their face, and if they do have some problems, they make enough that they simple wash them away with a few expensive Martinis, and all is well with the world, except for the people they get paid to bitch about. Now see, I’ve gone and done it. I must be angry.

Anyway, they have it all wrong. We don’t need a national infusion of Prozac in our reservoirs; the symptoms of anger and rage say we are getting close to needing a massive anti-psychotic program.

No question about it; Americans are red faced, butt ugly angry: Conservative Americans, Liberal Americans, Democrats, Republicans, loony left-wingers, rabid right-wingers. Young, old, male, female, heterosexual, homosexual, Christians, Atheists, Afro American, Latinos, Asians, Lord, everybody: They all have one thing in common – they’re pissed.

Any reasonable, sober, rational, non-mind altered substance user/abuser can’t help but be angry when they look at what’s happened and what is happening to them. You need a second mortgage to buy a tank of gas, Americans die in a war that polls say a majority of us do not support, (hell who needs polls on that one), we don’t have confidence in our leaders, (in fact we distrust and despise them), and every piece of legislation that comes out of Congress seems to create more problems than it solves, and then there are those pieces of legislation we have been waiting decades to see the light of day, you know the ones that might really help solve a problem, like universal health care insurance.

I have these consistent visual images that meander through my mind, and all too often I see the American populous standing around with their head firmly planted in the ground like a flock of oblivious Ostriches, or sitting on their asses like those three old stone monkeys, “see no evil”, “hear no evil”, “do no evil”, or walking around with their earphones jammed half way into their brains destroying what little hearing they have, having been exposed to yearly new models of ear drum abuser technology, humming along with: “don’t worry; be happy!”; their heads swaying, jerking about like some bobble head doll. And if you don’t believe me, just watch these folks with their cell phones if you don’t think they have hearing and brain deficits.

What good does it do to yell into a cell phone? Hell; get a megaphone or a couple of tin cans and string and be done with it.

But I digress. Now I don’t want to think the worst of our Congresspersons, (sometimes, well often I do), but something is wrong with this health care thing. It’s like they are playing some kind of perverted game, holding out to see if we can be that last nation, let alone the last advanced nation, to provide universal coverage.

We send jobs over seas; the homeless on our streets increase daily, (and that includes Vets returning from “honored” service); educational cost sky rocket and we can’t afford to equip the military adequately, and nothing is being done.

Before departing this commentary; AMA Lobbyists and pharmaceutical company lobbyists crawl all over Washington like Fire Ants, consuming political leaders with a vengeance.

The whining war of words waged daily contributes nothing to solving problems as the words go in one ear and out the other of both the ”experts” and the public. Expectations for problem resolution are all but nonexistent, and still we pay taxes for, and I sympathize at times with those who ask in earnest: “For What?”

Anger, like all politics is local, and road rage incidents increase daily across the country. Police report serious injuries or death occur far too often from the anger that spills out of such encounters. Alcohol, drug complicated domestic violence, spousal and child abuse just continue to grow, and the morning news drones on like “a night before crime report”.

Popular baseball players will sit out games and pay hefty fines for getting into fights with fans. Brawls break out at sporting events; fans aren’t happy if there isn’t a brawl at a hockey game or a crash at a NASCAR event. We want vicarious violence to sooth the anger that gnaws at our guts.

The Vice President of the United States tells a Senator to “fuck off.” Mr. Vice President, I would love to have a few moments of your time to shall we say, express my feelings. Maybe we could go duck hunting on the Potomac.

I wouldn’t be concerned because I know your rules, so let’s go shoot a few birds! A senior administration official tries to get even with a critic of the President by leaking the name of his wife – a CIA operative – to the media. I guess he was angry.

That type of nonsense involves a lot more discussion including our “American Values” and the confusing corruption of any sense of consistency brought about by a world where the only constant is change and the content of our moral and ethical fabric has all become a witch’s brew of “Situational Ethics, Moral Relativism, Existentialism, Fundamentalist Christianity and Legalism, all wrapped up in shrieks of “Culture Clash”, that leads to the fact that we have to, or we feel the need to, write tome length books about trying to answer such questions as:

“What is right and wrong?”

“What is legal and illegal?”

“What is Constitutional or Unconstitutional?”

“What is Justice and what is unjust?”

Polls, ( there is that word again), say most Americans believe the President lied to gain approval for the war in Iraq and that they also believe the majority of members of Congress are corrupt, don’t serve their constituents, and that lawyers are at the bottom of the Integrity dumpster.

The majority in Congress are lawyers! They don’t believe what they read in newspapers or see on the evening news.

Most say they turn to the Internet for news, which is ironic since the ‘Net is the source for most incorrect news, biased coverage and urban legends. But then again folks will spend hours watching wrestling or reading the Enquirer. Are we really searching for the truth, or have we reached that movie line: “You can’t handle the truth!” “Don’t worry; Be Happy”!

Now anyone, like me who goes by the blog handle of “Precinct Master” and delights in the electoral process has to be well versed in polling data, but you can’t carry that stuff around in your pocket like some pocket Bible or Koran always at the ready like the Colt sidearm of old.

I know leaders who would rather read the latest poll data over coffee as opposed to the news because it “better prepares” them for the day.

Candidly, those of that ilk might just as soon walk out on the street outside Starbucks, wet their finger, stick it up into the morning breeze…and please be careful of your choice of finger…index will be fine…middle will be seen as an expression of anger…and after determined which way the wind is blowing for the day, make their decisions.

They will be just as well informed as having read Rasmussen, etc., etc. Reading does not guarantee understanding polling data. This is one step from insanity.

It is just such silliness that prompts me to keep Mark Twain’s quote: “In matters of differences of opinion; our adversaries are simply insane.”…around as my own Linus Blanket.

Have these people ever entertained the idea of talking to the average Joe and Sally at Starbucks, the grocery store, wherever, and really LISTEN to them. Listening, considering what others have to say, think and absorbing how they are feeling; now there is a helluva concept!

Congress gridlocks over the simplest pieces of legislation, special interest groups flood the airwaves with angry negative fear invoking advocacy ads that are mostly lies or twist the facts to make a non-existent case, (better know these day as spin, a four letter word like…Ok, Ok…I won’t do that one!

Political rhetoric is all-to-often filled with hate and partisan bile. The American public knows they are being fed a diet of pasture droppings and cups of Hemlock and snake venom, yet rather than reject the menu, and everyone associated with it, they opt for choosing the poison of their preference, and merrily on their ways offering it up to anyone who will listen. Usually they are speaking to members of their own choir, (safer that way because people get angry!)

Most couples with young children worry that they won’t have enough money to send their children to college, which may well be true, and that Social Security will be bankrupt long before they retire, which is even more likely to be true, not that we can’t remedy both of these situations, but fighting ill conceived wars, screaming in anger about them, working at political character assassination, plotting, excuse me, planning for reelection, takes up so much time and energy.

Americans today don’t feel good about their country, about their leaders, about their future, or for that matter, they don’t feel good about anything.

Our leaders have failed us because they have forgotten that their first duty/obligation is to serve the country, not their party or their personal political agendas.

Too many Americans have forgotten that as well, choosing to blindly support a specific political party or philosophical agenda without thinking of the effect such support might have on their country, their way of life or their future.

You know what that is all about; Americans have decided that both sides of the aisle are equally noxious and that every so often, like putting on clean under wear, they vote to give the other side a chance to prove them wrong, and as we have seen, the new players talk a lot but the rush to the trough of power, pilfer, pork, profit and privilege is unmistakable.

Both sides hypocritically condemn actions of their opponents while condoning the same actions by members of their own party or philosophical group. Both sides strike out angrily when criticized but then don’t hesitate to level the same hyperbole towards the other side when it suits their purposes. And then, the voters change the under wear, and what happens, we Democrats just can’t wait to air out dirty bed linen. Who is going to get what job? Who should be cast out of party leadership after doing an historic job? Who wants to be President in 2008…everybody? Who is going to be whose sock puppet?

Yes, we’re angry, but the anger will only get worse as long as partisanship controls our lives, drives our decisions and defines our government. We cannot, and will not, control our anger until we stop thinking confrontationally as Democrats or Republicans, conservatives or liberals, right or left and start working together as Americans.

Having said that, things are unfortunately in such a mess, that legally, morally, ethically, constitutionally we must Impeach Bush and Cheney. That will be confrontational! You can argue with me until you are blue with anger in your face, but it is a matter of Right and Wrong!

Angry people always look for someone to blame for the anger.
Democrats blame Republicans. Republicans blame Democrats. Independents blame both.

But, in a democratic republic, the ultimate responsibility falls on we the people.

In the end, the only people who can change things are you, me and the rest of the angry masses, and it is up to us to insure the integrity and continuation of our Democracy.

It is up to us to see to it that our rights are not eroded or corroded, and that is a fact! It is our duty; it is our responsibility, so when two different POLLING GROUPS called yesterday inquiring about Impeachment, I cradled my phone, called up my most complete Bill of Particulars on this machine, and I unloaded every domestic criminal act of Bush and his subordinates, and every violation of the Geneva Conventions that constitutes War Crimes.

I did my duty to the point where one pollster stopped me and asked if he could record the entirety on my response.

Dutifully I complied with the request, because it was RIGHT to do so!

First, we all have to accept the blame for what’s happened to this country. Then we have to work together to resolve our anger and get to the more important job of fixing what’s wrong.

So I guess what I am suggesting by way of resolving our anger is that we have to experience and get by the vitriol of a dual Impeachment and then maybe we can move on.

Actually, if the Congress can simply view that act as a matter of process and continue working on legislative matters, you would be surprised how much could be accomplished while Impeachment proceedings move forward. It is not a necessary, given automatic that every function of the US government comes to a stand still during investigations and subsequent Impeachment.

That assumption is based upon a rather ritualistic approach to such matters and the instinct to preach on TV as often as possible. What garbage!

Don’t get mad. Don’t get even. Instead, let’s get together and get results.

I want to see our country healthy again. I want to see the rule of law in place. I do not want to hear excuses of why we cannot prosecute/impeach criminals.

I don’t want to hear any discussion of moral relativism or situational ethics.

I want to hear Constitutional and Unconstitutional.

I want to hear Moral and Immoral.

I want to hear RIGHT and Wrong.

I want to hear JUSTICE and service to the American people!

I invite your comments. I will LISTEN! Ed.

BUSH INSISTS CONGRESS CAN'T HALT IRAQ BUILDUP AMID GROWING CRITICISM, THE PRESIDENT AND CHENEY SEEK TO REASSERT THE STRATEGY OF ADDITIONAL TROOPS.

THIS MAN IS BETTING ON MOST AMERICANS DOING NOTHING BUT COMPLAINING. HE BETTING ON THE CONTINUED TIMIDITY OF THE CONGRESS. HE IS IN HIS OWN MIND A FASCIST DICTATOR AT THIS POINT WITH NO RESPECT OF THE PEOPLE AND NO REGARD FOR THE CONSTITUTION OR ANY OTHER LAW OF THIS LAND!

HE MUST BE STOPPED AND BROUGHT TO JUSTICE…NOW!!!

WASHINGTON — As Congress and the administration gird for conflict over troop levels in Iraq, President Bush is asserting that he has the power to send more U.S. forces, regardless of what lawmakers want. NOW WHERE HAVE I HEARD THAT SHIT BEFORE?"

I fully understand they could try to stop me from doing it," Bush said in an interview broadcast Sunday on CBS' "60 Minutes." When asked whether he thought he had the authority to send additional troops in the face of opposition from the Democratic majority in Congress, Bush said: "In this situation, I do, yeah." (THAT IS REALLY ARTICULATE AND OFFERS ALL THE LEGAL EXPLANATION WE NEED…NOT!!!)

The president's comments were part of an administration effort to quell the growing roar of criticism about its Iraq strategy, as Democrats plan nonbinding resolutions opposing the troop increase and as some Republicans echo their resistance to the plan. BOYS AND GIRLS, LET’S GET OFF THIS NON BINDING CRAP AND GET AT THE MEAT AND HEAT OF THE MATTER!!!

Bush acknowledged that some of the administration's steps had contributed to Iraq's instability and said any mistakes should be laid at his feet. "If people want a scapegoat, they've got one right here in me because it's my decisions," the president said. (FINALLY I AGREE WITH THE PRESIDENT! SO GEORGE, WHY THE (#$^#*) DON’T YOU JUST RESIGN?

"No question, decisions have made things unstable," he added. "But the question is: Can we succeed?" (NO NOT EVEN OVER ANOTHER 3,000 DEAD AMERICAN BODIES!)

On Wednesday, the president unveiled a plan to subdue the growing violence in Baghdad and nearby Al Anbar province by adding 21,500 soldiers and Marines to the 132,000 U.S. troops in the country. The decision ran counter to a recommendation by the bipartisan Iraq Study Group that the administration draw down troops, and it brought denunciations from, among others, Republican Sens. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, Sam Brownback of Kansas and Norm Coleman of Minnesota. (RUNS COUNTER, HELL IT RUNS COUNTER TO COMMON SENSE, REALITY AND SANITY!)

In the "60 Minutes" interview, taped last week, Bush said he wasn't bothered by his low approval ratings and called himself the "educator in chief," arguing that sharing his views would help to overcome public and congressional resistance. "I'm going to have to keep explaining," he said.

(HERMANN GOEHRING SAID: “IF YOU SAY IT OFTEN ENOUGH, AND LOUD ENOUGH PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE YOU!” GEORGE YOU HAD BETTER READ ANOTHER BOOK; LIKE ABOUT NUREMBERG!)

He said he was discouraged by the handling of Saddam Hussein's execution, which he saw on an Internet video but stopped watching before the trap door opened under the former Iraqi leader. "I didn't want to watch the whole thing," Bush said. (ANOTHER LIE!!!)

And he expressed pride in U.S. achievements in Iraq: "I think the Iraqi people owe the American people a huge debt of gratitude," Bush said.

(THEY SHOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR ALL THEIR INNOCENT DEAD, THE PHYSICAL DESTRUCTION OF THEIR COUNTRY, THE COMPLETE COLLAPSE OF LAW AND ORDER, FOR DAILY KILLINGS AND ECONOMIC COLLAPSE? )

Asked if he owed the Iraqi people an apology for not providing better security after the 2003 invasion, he said: "Not at all." WHAT AN ARROGANT IDIOT.

Vice President Dick Cheney, appearing on "Fox News Sunday," said complaints from Congress would not stop the administration, which "cannot run a war by committee." TRANSLATION: “THE HELL WITH THE CONGRESS; WE’RE GOING TO DO WHAT WE DAMN WELL PLEASE!

”He disagreed with the suggestion that the administration had overruled military commanders who argued against increasing troops, and he sidestepped a question about Americans' dissatisfaction with the war. THEY ARE NOT LISTENING OR ACKNOWLEDGING A SINGLE OBVIOUS FACT!

"I don't think any president worth his salt can afford to make decisions of this magnitude according to the polls," Cheney said when asked about midterm-election exit polls showing that only 17% of voters supported an increase in troops. NEVER MIND THE POLLS; WHAT ABOUT THE BALLOT BOX? WE ALL KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT ONE NOW!

Withdrawing forces, Cheney warned, would simply "revalidate the strategy that Osama bin Laden has been following from Day One: that if you kill enough Americans you can force them to quit, that we don't have the stomach for the fight." SO LET US SHOW THEM AND SEND SOME KIDS AS CANNON FODDER!

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), author of a bill that would require the president to get authorization from Congress before raising troop levels in Iraq, charged that Bush was ignoring his generals, the Iraq Study Group, the public and Congress. TED HAS IT RIGHT!

"The stubbornness of this administration means repeating the same colossal mistakes over and over," he said in a statement released by his office Sunday.Administration officials have said that the troop increase would help the Iraqi military confront the sectarian violence that has cleaved Baghdad, and that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki would no longer place restrictions on confronting the 60,000-strong militia of leading Shiite cleric Muqtada Sadr, a strong source of support for Maliki's government.

"There will be no safe havens, including Sadr City," national security advisor Stephen J. Hadley told ABC's "This Week," referring to the cleric's stronghold in Baghdad.Hadley said he expected Congress to fall into line with the administration's plan. "We will be able to persuade the Congress that this is the only option for success in Iraq," he said. THEY ARE OUT OF THEIR MINDS!

Citing the choices of staying the course or withdrawing, Hadley added: "It's simply clear that the Iraqis are not ready to take responsibility" for security in Baghdad. "We have to help them. And we believe — the president believes — in the end of the day, Congress is going to understand that's the only course for success." NO, NO, NO!!!

Republicans appearing on the Sunday talk shows decried what they described as Democratic obstruction and warned of the stakes. OBSTRUCTION OF WHAT: MORE AMERICAN HUMAN SACRIFICES?

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a likely presidential contender who has long called for a troop increase, said on CBS' "Face the Nation" that failure in Iraq would be a "catastrophe in the form of increased Iranian influence," regional instability and increased bloodshed. JOHN ALL THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN UNLESS THERE IS A DEFINITIVE WW III!

He dismissed as a political ploy the Democratic plan for a resolution condemning the troop increase. "The opponents of doing this are obligated, in my view, to tell the American people what the option is if we do leave. What is the option?" he asked. NO ONE WANTS TO SAY THAT WE, AND WORLD WILL RETURN THERE IN WAR AGAIN, A CATASTROPHIC ONE, THAT WE ARE NOT WILLING OR ABLE TO EXECUTE OR CONTEMPLATE AT THE MOMENT.

Democrats argued that the looming catastrophe Republicans were warning of had already arrived. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), who might vie for his party's presidential nomination, followed McCain on CBS and cited increased bloodshed and growing Iranian influence in the country.

Obama, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, laid out an alternative plan similar to the Iraq Study Group's.

He advocated a phased pullout, along with improved reconstruction efforts and increased diplomacy that includes Syria and Iran."We cannot impose a military solution on what has effectively become a civil war," Obama said.

"I think it's important to understand that the options are not either total withdrawal or a 'stay-the-course-plus,' which is essentially what the administration is proposing, but rather the kind of thoughtful bipartisan strategy that's been suggested by not just Democrats but also Republicans, not just civilians but also by the military." DID YOU CATCH THAT GYROSCOPE AS IT WENT SPINNING BY?

On CNN's "Late Edition," Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich.) advocated withdrawing combat troops in six to eight months, but said he did not support cutting off funds for troops in Iraq.

"We will continue to support our troops, although we disagree with the policy," he said. Also appearing on CNN, Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), another potential presidential candidate, disagreed with Levin's timeline and suggested that a deadline of one year from now be set for Iraqis to assume responsibility and for American troops remaining in Iraq to be limited to training, searching for Al Qaeda and protecting American resources

FASCISM WITH A CROSS

Here is the ultimate question. We know that being Christian is not necessarily synonymous with being an irrational nut.

We know there are thoughtful people who are appalled that their faith is being exploited for political gain.

How many honest Christians recognize that they are being played for fools by conservatives who are more interested in money and power than in morality?

How many of them are willing to stand up and reclaim their faith from the reactionaries who are using the cross as a sword?

REMEMBER, IT’S NOT ABOUT GOD. IT’S ABOUT WEALTH AND POWER AND USING THE SUPPOSEDLY GODLY TO PUSH THROUGH THE MOST UNGODLY POLICIES THIS NATION HAS EVER SEEN. IT’S FASCISM WITH A CROSS INSTEAD OF A SWASTIKA.
